LISTEN AND RECORD
LISTEN TO THE SOUND OF CREATIVITY
The sound of where and how we work might be familiar to ourselves, but strange and unusual to others. The way we normally share our more private spaces online is through posting photos and videos. spaceREC uses sound recordings as a way to share private creative spaces and combine them in a larger soundscape to build a collective aural space.
In June 2016 we used these sound recordings to share private creative spaces and combine them in a larger soundscape installation shown at Arts Hostel Leeds.
We are now looking for the sound of creative spaces in Lincoln. To add your own creative soundspace in Lincoln please email firstname.lastname@example.org
RECORD YOUR CREATIVE SPACE IN SOUND
As part of the project we would love to know what makes your space special.
We would like you to walk around your space, record and send us the sounds that you find interesting and compelling. What makes your space unique? Why do you like it? What would be your space of the future? You can also talk about your work and how your space is affecting it.
Recording doesn’t have to be professionally made in fact we would like to hear different quality of recordings and variety of sounds so be creative. First and foremost just be creative and have fun.
Don’t forget to write a couple of sentences about your recording in the track description, to let us and everyone else know why you wanted to share it with us.
HOW DO I RECORD?
Take the recording device of your choice – for example mobile phone, laptop or voice recorder with microphone. Plug in the headphones and listen for interesting sounds of your space. Hit the REC button and afterwards send General Practice in Lincoln the recording.
You can email it to us: email@example.com
